The young midfielder was delighted with the Blaugrana's performance on Wednesday evening and has thanked Tata Martino for the faith shown in him
The Catalans were held to a 1-1 draw by Levante when both sides met in La Liga at the weekend and they again found themselves in trouble in midweek after heading into the half-time break a goal behind.
However, Barcelona turned things around after the break as Cristian Tello netted a hat-trick to add to a Juan Garcia own goal, much to the delight of Sergi Roberto.
"We knew that we were going to play against a defensive team, but we reacted well," the young midfielder told the official Barcelona website.
"Taking the lead was crucial, it opened up more space for us."
The 21-year-old admitted he could have made the win more resounding had he showed more of a clinical edge in his performance, but stressed he is pleased with the opportunities given him by head coach Gerardo Martino this season.
"Personally, I should have shot twice but I passed instead, but the important thing is that the team won," he added.
"I’m very pleased that Tata Martino has confidence in me."
Sergi Roberto has made 18 appearances in all competitions for Barcelona so far this term.
