thumbnail Hello,

The Spain goalkeeper has denied suggestions he and several of his high-profile team-mates are not in support of the club's summer-long pursuit of the Wales attacker

Iker Casillas has dismissed suggestions Gareth Bale's potential arrival has split the Real Madrid dressing room, insisting the winger will be "welcomed" should his proposed £100 million transfer from Tottenham go ahead.

The Wales star is intent on securing a dream move to the Spanish giants but recent reports suggested the likes of dressing room leaders Casillas and Sergio Ramos were nonplussed by the club’s pursuit of the 24-year-old and his impending arrival.

Speaking after Real Madrid’s 3-1 win over Chelsea in Florida, however, Casillas and his fellow team-mates are in full support of president Florentino Perez’s summer-long pursuit of Bale.

"We still don't know if it's official or not. There has been a lot of talk about it in the last few days, just like in every pre-season," the Real goalkeeper said in AS.

"Last year it was Modric and now it's 'the Bale saga'. The president (Florentino Perez) and (director general) Jose Angel Sanchez always do everything to try and bring the best players to the club.

"The current squad is complete in every area but if a player like Bale comes along, he'll be welcomed."

Negotiations between Spurs chairman Daniel Levy and Perez over the protracted transfer were due to take place in Florida this week, but a resolution has yet to be agreed with a fee or payment structure the major sticking points.
