The 28-year-old is believed to be interesting Andre Villas-Boas, but the Liga outfit want to complete business early to avoid being left unprepared ahead of the new season

Valencia president Amadeo Salvo has increased the pressure on Tottenham to make their interest in Roberto Soldado concrete with a bid.

Reports in Spain suggest the Liga outfit want to complete their business by the end of the first week in August - with the striker valued at £25 million by the Liga outfit - otherwise he will not be allowed to leave the club through fear of being unable to find a replacement.

3/1 Roberto Soldado is 3/1 with BetVictor to join Tottenham
Soldado is believed to be among Tottenham's list of potential targets after missing out on David Villa, who joined Atletico Madrid, and Christian Benteke, who signed a new deal at Aston Villa after withdrawing his transfer request.

"The message we have to give is that we need tranquility," Salvo told Speyer.

"If Soldado leaves in the near future, near to the end of the transfer window, we will will have to find a replacement."

The former Real Madrid striker netted 24 times for Valencia last season, and has a further six goals in 11 games for Spain.

With just Jermain Defoe and Emmanuel Adebayor the only first-team strikers available at the club, bolstering his forward line remains a top priority for Andre Villas-Boas.
