Reports have suggested that La Liga side are planning a swoop for the Napoli attacker should they sell star player Radamel Falcao, but Cavani’s representative Pierpaolo Triulzi has said he has not heard anything from Atleti.
“There has been no contact and we don’t know if they want to buy him,” said Triulzi to Marca.
“We don’t know what will happen in the future, but the player is very happy where he finds himself right now. If Atletico Madrid want to pay his €62 million [£50m] release fee, then, they can have their say.
“There have been a lot of offers for him in the past, but Napoli didn’t want to let him go and got him to sign a contract extension instead.”
Cavani has forged a reputation as one of the best forwards in Europe since moving to Napoli from Palermo in 2010, having scored 80 goals for the Naples outfit in 110 appearances.
