Benzema is out of this world, says Real Madrid's Arbeloa

Los Blancos' full-back praised the former Lyon striker following his display against Athletic Bilbao at the Santiago Bernabeu where he scored and played a role in two more goals
Alvaro Arbeloa has taken the time to praise striker Karim Benzema in the wake of Real Madrid's 5-1 win over Athletic Bilbao at the weekend to keep rivals Barcelona in their sights.

The France international was directly involved in three of Madrid's five goals, and caused the visiting defence all kinds of trouble with his impressive display up front.

And the former Liverpool full-back believes the 24-year-od performance was "out of this world", and he can go on to do "extraordinary things" as los Blancos look to retain their La Liga trophy.

"You have to give him credit for a 10 out of 10 game. Benzema is out of this world, a very classy and talented footballer," he told Marca.

"He had a really good game in which he played spectacularly and took advantage of goalscoring opportunities.

"He's a great striker who's getting his form back and who you have to acknowledge does extraordinary things."

Benzema made his return to the starting XI following a knock against Real Zaragoza, and played a major role in securing a vital victory for the champions.

His shot after 12 minutes looped in after deflecting off of Jon Aurtenetxe, and the striker added another after 32 minutes before assisting Mezut Ozil in the second half.

Benzema has netted just two goals in 10 La Liga appearances this term as his side currently trail league leaders and bitter rivals Barcelona by eight points after 12 games.
