Javier Saviola has spoken of his joy after finding the net on his first appearance for Malaga after his summer move from Benfica.
Manuel Pellegrini's men recorded a 3-1 victory over Levante at La Rosaleda, with the Argentine scoring one and creating another.
The former Barcelona man had seen his playing time in the Portuguese capital limited, but has vowed to keep on delivering for his new side.
"I hope to continue giving glorious afternoons [to the fans]," he was quoted as saying by Marca.
"The standing ovation reminded me of River Plate. My celebration was for all of the people who have supported me."
Malaga have got over a turbulent summer to record three wins and a draw from their opening four Liga games, and currently sit two points behind Barcelona.
