The Catalan side opt for the former Arsenal man in midfield, as Xavi is given a rest following the Super Cup match against Real Madrid during the week
The biggest omission from the Barcelona first XI is Xavi, who has likely been rewarded with a rest after featuring against Real Madrid on Thursday. Sergio Busquets and Andres Iniesta make up the midfield trio with Fabregas.
David Villa will have to wait for his first start of the campaign as Alexis Sanchez and Tello make up the attacking front three with Lionel Messi. Meanwhile at the back, Carles Puyol and Gerard Pique partner each other in central defence.
Osasuna will start the match with a five-man midfield with summer recruit Joseba Llorente featuring as the lone striker. However, expect Roland Lamah, Sisi, and Alvaro Cejudo to provide plenty of support in attack.
