The Brazilian wing-back has thanked his coach for putting his faith in him during the past two years, while he hopes that Kaka will not leave the Santiago Bernabeu this summerReal Madrid defender Marcelo says he is very happy to be working with Jose Mourinho, and is keen to continue his development under the flamboyant coach.
The Brazil international has made over 150 Liga appearances for the Spanish champions since joining the club in January 2007, and he is delighted with the faith shown in him by the 49-year-old.
"I'm very grateful to Mourinho for putting his trust in me," Marcelo told reporters.
"I've learned a lot under him and I want to continue learning. I still have to improve a lot."
The wing-back. who is currently away on international duty with Brazil at the Olympics, also briefly discussed the situation of team-mate Kaka, and made it clear that he hopes the attacking midfielder will stay put.
"It would be good for both Real Madrid and Kaka if he stays at the club," noted Marcelo.
The attacking midfielder has been heavily linked with a return to AC Milan, but the Rossoneri's dire financial situation has so far proved too much of an obstacle.
