Real Madrid winger Angel Di Maria has expressed his delight at seeing Tottenham midfielder Luka Modric linked with the club.
The Spanish champions have have made their interest in the Croatian no secret, with Modric deciding not to attend Spurs' pre-season tour of the United States, amid interest from Madrid.
Despite apologising for his absence, Andre Villas-Boas has admitted that the 26-year-old is unlikely to join up with the rest of the squad on their tour.
Following his side's 5-1 pre-season win over Oviedo, Di Maria told reporters: "Hopefully Modric will come. He's a player I love, but it's not my decision."
The Argentine also commented on the future of Madrid team-mate Kaka, after AC Milan CEO Adriano Galliani fuelled speculation of a potential San Siro return for the Brazil international.
"I've seen him very happy, sure that everything will be fixed," Di Maria said.
