Up to a thousand fans braved high temperatures at Los Angeles de San Rafael, Madrid, to see Los Colchoneros begin preparations for the 2012-13 season.
The outing also gave supporters their first glimpse of Atletico's three new signings; Emre, Cristian Rodriguez and Cata Diaz.
At the end of the session, Simeone praised the fans' support for the Europa League winners, and insisted that the players will reciprocate the affection when the new campaign gets underway.
"We want to show on the field the enthusiasm you show in the stands," the 42-year-old stated.
And club captain Gabi echoed his boss' thoughts.
"We are proud to have you here and will give everything to win the titles that you deserve," he was quoted as saying by AS.
