Guardiola's ideas will live on under Vilanova, says Sacristan

The B coach claims the new first-team boss will still look to develop young players from La Masia, and a change in the dugout will not mean philosophies will be compromised
Tito Vilanova will build on Pep Guardiola's ideas and philosophies while in the Camp Nou hotseat, according to Barcelona B boss Eusebio Sacristan.

The Catalan giants will have a new man in charge next season after the now-legendary trainer has decided to take a leave of absence away from the game, but this will not change the Blaugrana’s principles.

"It will not change. We will continue on the same line, working with young players who will play and have good communication with the first team,” Sacristan told reporters at a press conference.

"The ideas and philosophies of Tito will be the same as it was when we were working with Pep.

"We will continue working with the idea that the kids are as well prepared as possible. We are very good at it and it is great to see that they are tested continuously, because it makes them look forward to training every day."

The Barca B man then went on to explain the rivalry between La Masia and Real Madrid’s Castilla, claiming that competition between the two youth sides is important.

"It is certainly a motivation for us, because we know the importance and rivalry between the two clubs. Living with rivalry is important," he concluded.
