The highly-rated Belgian has confirmed that he is likely to remain at the Vicente Calderon one more year, while rejecting reports linking him with Real Madrid
Thibaut Courtois has revealed that he is confident that Chelsea will allow him to stay on loan at Atletico Madrid a second season. The Belgian goalkeeper signed for the Blues last summer but was immediately sent out on loan to Atletico to get more games under his belt.
He has admitted to being happy with his role at the Spanish club on several occasions, and an extension to his initial one-year loan now appears to be a matter of time.
"I am at Atletico, I am very happy here and I am part of this club," he told Onda Cero.
"It is almost certain that I will stay another year here. I am happy here and also at Chelsea, so the rumours about a possible transfer to Real Madrid lack foundation."
The former Racing Genk custodian has made 47 competitive appearances for Atletico, who are through to the Europa League final after defeating Valencia 5-2 on aggregate.
