TEAM NEWS: Coentrao & Di Maria start for Real Madrid as Falcao & Adrian shake off flu for the derby

Jose Mourinho names the Portuguese left-back and the Argentine winger in his starting XI for the short trip to the Vicente Calderon, as the Atletico attackers recover from illness
Fabio Coentrao and Angel Di Maria start for Real Madrid against Atletico in Wednesday's derby at the Vicente Calderon, but Mesut Ozil and Gonzalo Higuain have to make do with a place on the bench.

Coentrao is preferred to Marcelo in defence, while Di Maria starts alongside Kaka and Cristiano Ronaldo in a line of three forwards behind lone striker Karim Benzema.

For Atletico, forwards Adrian and Radamel Falcao had been doubtful with flu, but both start the derby in a stong line-up for Diego Simeone's side.

Madrid are just one point ahead of Barcelona, who thrashed Getafe 4-0 on Tuesday, in La Liga but will look to restore their advantage to four units with victory at the Calderon.
