Valencia's Adil Rami has admitted he is flattered by speculation linking him with Barcelona, but insisted that playing well for his current team remains his first priority.

The defender has impressed recently and his performances for los Che have not gone unnoticed.

Barca are reportedly looking for reinforcements in the centre of defence and have earmarked the 26-year-old as a potential target.

"It is an honour to be linked with Barcelona," Rami said, according to Sport. "I am an ambitious player, I know I have room for improvement.

"I intend to work hard to become one of the best at my position, but I have only just arrived at Valencia and I'm fine here for now."

Rami joined Valencia from Lille last summer and has made 17 Primera Division appearances for los Che so far.
