Barcelona midfielder Cesc Fabregas has made it clear that he is not at his best yet, and feels he has to improve in order to add something to the team.

The midfielder has put in a number of impressive displays since returning to Camp Nou after an eight-year spell at Arsenal last summer, and has quickly become an important first team member at the Catalans.

Nevertheless, the Spain international is not completely satisfied with his performances just yet, and feels there are tweaks to make to his game.

"I'm not happy with my own performance against Real Madrid last Wednesday night. I have to improve a lot," Fabregas was quoted as saying on the Barcelona website.

"Although I was brought up to play football the Barca way, this is the boss' system and it's not easy to get it straight away.

"When I play further forward, I have more mobility and that's a role I can handle. However, further back I need to have more discipline and I currently miss the patience for that."

The 24-year-old has so far made 14 La Liga appearances for Barcelona, scoring nine goals in the process.

Starting in November and continuing through to the middle of February, Goal.com is publishing exclusive extracts from Graham Hunter's highly-anticipated new book, 'Barca: The Making of the Greatest Team in the World'. Friday's extract looks at how Barca suffered rare disappointment at the hands of Real Madrid in a gripping finale to last season's Copa del Rey. Don't miss it!
