| Miguel Moya was not always troubled by the Racing Santander attackers but when called into action, the Getafe goalkeeper did not disappoint. He kept out Lautaro Acosta and just about saved his shot in the dying moments of the match at El Sardinero that ended in a 2-1 victory for the Madrid outfit. |

| Adil Rami put in yet another crucial shift for Valencia in their 1-1 draw with Osasuna in Pamplona. The France international central defender asserted himself at the back with his strength and aerial superiority. His opposite number at the Estadio Reyno de Navarra, Miguel Flano, kept Roberto Soldado reasonably quiet, while Ivan Ramis scored the only goal in Real Mallorca’s away win against Rayo Vallecano with a second-half header. | ||||

| Andres Iniesta called the shots from the midfield for Barcelona in their 4-1 destruction of Malaga away from home. The Spain international’s change of play, quick runs and link-up with his fellow attackers was superb. Joan Verdu was the central cog in Espanyol’s midfield in their 3-0 win against Granada at home. Everything went through him and the versatile creator also added his name on the scoresheet when he successfully converted a penalty. Mesut Ozil had an inspiring game for Real Madrid as they got the better of 10-man Athletic Bilbao 4-1 at the Santiago Bernabeu; his neat passes and vision coming to life in the second half of the encounter. The star of the show, though, was Marcelo, who started the game at left-back and was a perennial threat going forward. His energy levels never dropped, and his intensity and dynamism aided Los Blancos in several counterattacks. |

| Lionel Messi was once again at his majestic best as he scored a hat-trick in the Blaugrana’s victory at La Rosaleda. Radamel Falcao continued to fire in the goals as the Colombia international forward bagged three in Atletico Madrid’s 4-0 away triumph over Real Sociedad. Adrian Lopez also played a key role in the Rojiblancos’ first away win of the season in La Liga as he scored their second goal and linked up well with Falcao in attack. | ||||||
