The former Spain international quit the club for Arsenal in 2004 but has returned to the Sanchez Pizjuan after signing a three-and-a-half-year contract with the club on Thursday

The winger left for Arsenal in 2004 but sealed his return to the Sanchez Pizjuan on Thursday, signing a three-and-a-half-year deal with the club.
“I’m back with a smile on my face from ear to ear,” Reyes said at his official unveiling. “Today is one of the happiest days of my life.
"For me it is a special motivation to lift a trophy with Sevilla [and] with the team we have it’s possible.”
Club president Jose Maria del Nido is certainly in no doubt that Reyes can lift Sevilla to greater heights.
"The decision to let go of Reyes eight years ago was hard, but it was for the good of Sevilla,” he explained.
“He has quality, desire and commitment: the three essential requirements for a Sevilla player.”
Reyes spent three seasons at Arsenal before returning to Spain in 2007 after agreeing a loan deal with Real Madrid.
He ended up at Atletico the following year but never truly settled at the Vicente Calderon and asked new coach Diego Simeone to be allowed to return to Sevilla during the January transfer window.
