Racing Santander v Zaragoza: Under 2.5 goals 8/13 (1.62) with Stan James

Goals at El Sardinero have been few and far between as a poor Racing side have really struggled with a painful lack of cutting edge in front of goal. Four goals scored in eight home matches has left the locals dejected and disillusioned, but the one bit of good news for the team from Santander is that they begin the new year with a home match against the only side below them in the table.

Zaragoza's defence has been staggeringly bad this season, having conceded 31 goals in 16 league games. If they were playing any other side then a low scoring game would not be such a banker. But Racing's goal tally at home, coupled with the fact that seven of their eight league games at home have seen under 2.5 goals means a low scoring affair looks very likely.

Rayo Vallecano v Sevilla: Away win 7/5 (2.40) with Stan James

Rayo Vallecano have had some decent results this season, but their defending at times has been their undoing, with their final league game of 2011 a particularly inept performance in losing 3-1 at home to Sporting Gijon.

They have been conceding goals with worrying regularity shipping 16 in their last five matches of the year. While Sevilla have not been overly impressive on their travels, they should have enough to overcome the team from Madrid and the price of better than evens looks like offering real value.

Levante v Mallorca: Both Teams to score “No” at 5/6 (1.83) with Stan James

The prefix 'surprise package of the season' is the default phrase to use whenever talking about Levante, because up until now they have performed miracles on a minuscule budget.

Their stadium in Valencia is rarely full even for the derby against their illustrious city neighbours, yet they have still managed to turn it into a fortress, conceding just five goals in their seven matches at home of which they have won six. Mallorca have failed to score on six occasions this season and look devoid of any genuine invention up front.
