Sergio Ramos fails to take part in full training as Real Madrid return from their winter break - report
The 25-year-old sustained a hamstring injury shortly before the Christmas hiatus, and has apparently not fully recovered in time to practise with the squad
Real Madrid defender Sergio Ramos has returned from the winter break still plagued by the hamstring problem he sustained in the 6-2 victory over Sevilla, according to Marca.
The club had been hopeful that Ramos would be able to return after the mid-season hiatus, but it now seems that the 25-year-old could miss the Copa del Rey clash with Malaga on January 3.
Elsewhere, Kaka reportedly trained separately from the group, but there was better news over the fitness of Ricardo Carvalho, who is said to have recovered from the back complaint that has seen him miss the last three months of action.
Meanwhile, Marca also claims that the match with Malaga being moved forward 24 hours from its initial scheduling could mean that the Real Madrid squad must report for training on New Year's Day.
The La Liga leaders resume their league campaign on January 7, when Malaga travel to the Santiago Bernabeu.
