Real Madrid defender Alvaro Arbeloa has issued a war cry on Twitter ahead of Saturday's Clasico versus Barcelona at the Santiago Bernabeu.

The full-back has recently recovered from injury and is expected to feature in the 216th competitive meeting between the two great rivals.

With Madrid currently top of La Liga with a three point lead over Barcelona and a game in hand, tensions will be as high as always with Arbeloa keen to get the club's supporters behind the team.

"Ride together. Die together. Madridistas FORVER [sic]. Play with us HALA MADRID!!!!!!" the former Liverpool player tweeted.

The 28-year-old was not the only Madrid player to use the social networking site to drum up support for the team.

"Today more than ever...we're Real! Until the end!!!" Sergio Ramos tweeted on Saturday.

Gonzalo Higuain made it a hat-trick of Clasico-themed messages from Madrid players, with the Argentine typing: "Good day friends. Today is a very special day. One more year, now 24, and the same day we play Barca. So we hope it's a magic night!"
