Barcelona held up by rat infestation and fog as they fly in to face Real Madrid

The Catalan club's players and coaching staff finally made it to the Spanish capital for the Clasico clash, while assistant boss Tito Vilanova made the trip by train
Barcelona have arrived in the Spanish capital for Saturday night's Clasico against Real Madrid, but only after the Catalan club's delegation was held up by an infestation of rats and foggy weather conditions.

Barca's plane was found to be plagued with rodents that had made their way into the aircraft from a hangar at Barajas and a fumigation squad was forced to work through the night to eradicate the problem, according to Cadena SER.

The flight was then delayed by half an hour due to fog, but Barca finally took off shortly after 11am CET and have now arrived in the Spanish capital.

Assistant coach Tito Vilanova, recently recovered from gland surgery, travelled to Madrid by train following medical advice.
