Real Madrid coach Jose Mourinho has received some positive news on the injury front in the build-up to Sunday's first leg of the Spanish Supercopa tie with Barcelona, as Sergio Ramos will resume squad training on Friday, AS reports.
The right-back sustained a back problem during Madrid's pre-season tour to the USA and the injury recurred during their trip to China.
Ramos subsequently decided to withdraw from the Spain squad for the international friendly against Italy last Wednesday, which his side lost 2-1, and has been training individually in the past couple of days in order to be match fit for Sunday's game.
Although it is not yet 100 per cent sure that Ramos will be able to play in time for the home clash against Barcelona, Mourinho is hopeful that the defender can feature against the Catalans.
Former Liverpool defender Alvaro Arbeloa is expected to take Ramos' place in the starting XI in case the former Sevilla man does not make it in time to feature.
