The French midfielder was expected to return to the training ground on Monday, but decided not to attend the practice session as he has set his sights on a summer move
Lassana Diarra appears to be one step closer to a Real Madrid exit after failing to report for Monday's training session at Valdebebas, according to AS.
The French midfielder was not included in Madrid's squad for their pre-season tour of the USA, but was expected to resume training again on Monday after two days of rest.
Royston Drenthe and Pedro Leon, who are also deemed surplus to requirements, did attend the session, but unlike the two wingers, Diarra was nowhere to be seen, increasing speculation that he will soon be leaving the Santiago Bernabeu on a permanent basis.
The 26-year-old has a contract with the Spanish giants until the summer of 2013, but is keen to leave the club ahead of the new season having fallen out of favour under Jose Mourinho.
Diarra has been linked with the likes of Juventus, Fenerbahce and a number of Premier League sides in the past few months, but Madrid have yet to receive an official offer for the midfielder.
