The young winger has voiced his wish to play alongside the highly rated striker as he can take the club to greater heights once he returns from the Copa America with Argentina
Aguero has publicly voiced his wish for a bigger challenge after five years at the club, with both Real Madrid and Juventus believed to be keen on offering him an escape route.
Salvio, who has returned to Atletico after spending the last season on loan at Benfica, has signalled the importance of Aguero, and noted he still hopes for his compatriot to make a U-turn on his decision.
"For what I know, today Aguero is a player of Atletico and I hope he stays, because he is very important to all the fans, every team wanted to have him," Salvio said at a press conference.
"Here, Aguero adds a lot to the team, he is very important to the club and the group."
The 20-year-old, who affirmed he will work hard to grab a place in the Atletico set-up, confessed he did not join Benfica on a permanent switch as the Portuguese side did not exercise their buying option following his loan period.
