Coach eager to sew up the title with three games remaining, but refuses to take things easy despite eight-point advantage at the top, saying he does not know hot to play for a draw

Barcelona coach Pep Guardiola is hoping to wrap up the league title when his side travel to Levante on Wednesday night.

Barca need just one point from their game on Wednesday to clinch their third successive league crown but could win the title tonight if Real Madrid fail to beat Getafe.

He told reporters: "We must try to win the most important title of the year, the league, as soon as possible.

"It is always difficult to win this title. The last three years have been complicated, and it's been a huge challenge.

"Getting to this stage with a lead of eight points is unexpected. I thought we would play for the title on the last day, but I hope it's sooner than that."

Guardiola was asked what he thought of winning the title before a ball has been kicked tomorrow if Madrid were to lose.

"It doesn't matter how we win the league, all that matters is winning," he said. "I think we have to win tomorrow, this is what I think. The luck is that we depend on ourselves."

The coach excluded any chance of playing for a draw, claiming the team only plays to win.

"I don't know how to play for a draw. If I knew how to I would, but I don't," he added.

"I would not know how to tell my players to go out and play for a draw. You have to win the point as no-one gives away anything. And the sooner we win the better."
