Real Madrid are lining up a summer move for Sergio Aguero from Atletico Madrid, and will use former player Alvaro Negredo as bait to land the Argentine, according to Marca.
Madrid sold Negredo to Sevilla in 2009 but have the option of a buy-back deal in the first two years set at €17 million (£14.3m).
Negredo is reported to be a player Atletico admire a lot and Madrid may excercise their clause to offer Negredo as part of the deal to tempt their city rivals to part with Aguero.
Aguero has been valued at €45m (£38m) by Atletico and Real Madrid hope to reach a deal by offering Negredo and €28m (£23.6m) in cash.
Real Madrid have Emmanuel Adebayor on loan until the end of the season from Manchester City, with the option to purchase in the summer.
The Togolese international scored on his home debut against Sevilla in the Copa del Rey, marking the 5,000th Real Madrid goal at the Santiago Bernanbeu, but with news of Aguero in the pipeline, a deal for the former Arsenal and Monaco striker in the summer seems unlikely.
