Togo forward on loan with view to permanent move
The Togolese striker was not allowed to make an official statement to the waiting media, but appeared jovial before undergoing an extensive examination by medical staff.
The medical team confirmed to the club’s official website that the 26-year-old had passed the stringent tests.
Carlos Diez, chief of medical services at Real Madrid, said: “He is in very good physical condition and he will be able to work with the team immediately.
"All the tests that we have done were perfect. He is in optimal condition to start working with the team. He is a physical marvel, and has the fitness to be available to the coaching staff."
Adebayor joins the Spanish giants until the end of the season, with Madrid holding the option to make the deal permanent in the summer for a fee of £15.5 million.
