Body attacked after making reference to Mourinho on websiteReal Madrid have released a statement expressing their indignation at the comments made by Spanish football’s governing body, the RFEF, in reference to the recent change of official for Thursday evening’s Copa del Rey match against Atletico Madrid.
An injury to first choice referee Delgado Ferreiro meant that Javier Turienzo was installed as his replacement.
In explaining their decision on their website, the RFEF directly referred to Real Madrid coach Jose Mourinho, saying: “Turienzo will work under the attentive look of Jose Mourinho, who is considered damaged by the referees in the last few months.”
The capital club published its complaint on its official website, accusing the RFEF of being "deliberately biased against the coach of Real Madrid and against the club itself".
The club wish to "show the outrage that we feel to such direct references made to the official website of the Spanish Football Federation" and have demanded accountability for what they perceive to be a "lack of respect and consideration to our coach and our team".
