The International Federation of Football Statistics (IFFHS) has named Real Madrid shot-stopper Iker Casillas as the best goalkeeper of 2010.
The Spanish international - who captained his country to World Cup glory - collected 304 points under the organisation's scoring system, well over double the amount collected by second-placed Julio Cesar (124).
The top five was completed by Chelsea's Petr Cech (56), Schalke’s Manuel Neuer (53) and Ajax keeper Maarten Stekelenburg (48).
Despite collecting the Zamora award for Spain’s best goalkeeper last season, Barcelona’s Victor Valdes was surprisingly only in sixth position.
Fellow Spanish stoppers David de Gea of Atletico Madrid and Pepe Reina of Liverpool also made the list.
