Barcelona president Sandro Rosell admits selling Zlatan Ibrahimovic to AC Milan was necessary, despite putting his club through ruinous expense.
Rosell described the whole Ibrahimovic affair as a "disaster" for th Catalans, suggesting those around Camp Nou couldn't wait to see the back of him.
"My best decision was to sell Ibrahimovic. It was a disaster for us on an economic level, but he has a high salary and it was not possible to get anymore from his sale," Rosell is quoted as saying on Tuttomercatoweb.com.
"However, it was a great move in terms of the squad and it is a choice I am very proud of."
Ibrahimovic, 29, joined AC Milan from Barcelona in the summer on an initial loan deal for the season with the Italians having the option to buy him permanently for around €24 million [£21m] in the summer.
