Real Madrid coach Jose Mourinho: If I wanted to win trophies with ease, I would have stayed at Inter
Mourinho left former club Inter because he needed the challenge...
By Andrew McLean
Mourinho said to AS: "If I wanted to be King Midas, I would have stayed at Inter. A team that had won everything in two years ensured me of a quiet life and many victories. I preferred to choose a more difficult path and accepted the offer of Real Madrid.
"It does not matter if the team subsequently win with me or another specialist, the main thing is stability," said Mourinho.
Los Blancos drew their opening fixture away to Real Mallorca, picking up a number of injuries to throw some extra obstacles into Mou's path.
His successor in Milan, Rafael Benitez, is also not enjoying the quiet life after seeing his new side end up with a goalless draw at Bologna on his Serie A debut.
