Former Chelsea boss calm despite losing forward for up to four months
The club have confirmed that the 28-year-old will be out of action for between three and four months after undergoing knee surgery to repair a torn meniscus.
The Portuguese elected not to reveal any feelings of panic when quoted by Marca, instead stressing Los Blancos have enough players in the attacking midfield position to cover the Brazilian's absence.
He said: "He is a very respected player by all his team-mates and is very skilled, but we want him at 100 per cent and for him to be happy. If we have to lose him for a while, it will not be a drama. We have other players and that's it."
While his absence will be prolonged, the 'Special One' hailed Kaka as 'one of the best players in the world'. Real Madrid have Rafael van der Vaart, who filled in for Kaka effectively in the Brazilian's absence due to injury last season, and rising young star Sergio Canales.
