The 29-year-old attacking midfielder arrived at Camp Nou in a €17 million [£13.6m] move from Arsenal in 2008 but despite featuring on 36 occasions in all competitions in their treble winning season, he failed to make a sufficient impression on Guardiola.
Aston Villa, Manchester City and Sunderland had all previously shown an interest in the former Gunner.
Hleb spent last season on loan at Stuttgart, the club he played for before joining the Gunners and with the club declaring that he was not in their plans for the 2010-11 season, he is expected to be loaned or transferred permanently this summer.
However according to Sport, the Belarusian midfielder is intent on digging his heels in at Camp Nou and will apparently refuse to leave even if Barca reach an agreement with another club.
