Barcelona midfielder Xavi urges Arsenal star Cesc Fabregas to join Catalan club immediately
Fabregas could miss boat...
By Matt Monaghan
Fabregas, 23, has been at the centre of a transfer battle between the sides as the Gunners refuse to release their captain. A bid of £29 million has already been rejected, though the Catalans are expected to come back to the table with an improved offer.
Speaking to the press, Xavi has urged Fabregas to come back to his hometown side immediately.
"He must play for the club, and it must be now," Xavi said.
"If not now, it will be a little too late. I hope that Cesc comes to Barcelona as soon as possible."
The Spanish international has already secured his own future at the club, signing a contract extension that could keep him at the club until 2016 on Wednesday.
