'Take the armband off you CLOWN!' - Inter fans hit out at Icardi

The relationship between the Nerazzurri captain and his supporters appears beyond salvation as both parties clash over claims made in his autobiograpy

Inter supporters have lashed out at Mauro Icardi, labelling him a "clown" and demanding that the club strip him of the captaincy as their relationship plunges new depths.

Barca want N'Zonzi as Busquets back-up

Icardi's efforts to secure himself a new contract and pay raise in the summer saw his wife and agent Wanda Nara offer him to multiple clubs, including arch-rivals Juventus.

And though Icardi committed his future to the Nerazzurri last week, the incident left a poor taste in the mouth of fans, who have regarded their top scorer coldly despite his fine start to the season.

The Argentine has done even less to endear himself to his supporters with the release of his autobiography, in which he makes less than flattering statements about the Inter faithful.

Fans from the Curva Nord have now shot back at the claims in his book, in turn calling the 23-year-old a liar and unfit to captain the side.

Barca show Man City: 'We're ready for you'

“Icardi, as far as we are concerned, you’re finished,” a statement from Inter's biggest Ultra group read. “Why such squalid fiction? We are horrified, that book is ridiculous and there are only lies.

“We merely ask for effort and honesty, while he depicts us as threatening figures who gravitate around the club asking for who knows what, so evidently something is wired wrong in his head.

Pep gets to grips with Premier League intensity

“An individual like this does not deserve the captain’s armband. It is pathetic to read such things talking about us. There are no more excuses. We considered him young, a bit of an idiot like many, but deep down a good lad.

"Instead, this is an individual who cannot be allowed to wear the Inter armband. It's not for us, but Inter simply don't deserve this.

"You are finished with us. You're done. TAKE THE ARMBAND OFF, YOU CLOWN. Yes, that is what we demand."
