The left-back played for just 30 minutes on Friday following his free transfer from Premier League giants Chelsea, but did enough to win the praise of his new coachRudi Garcia has lavished praise on Ashlely Cole after the defender made his first appearance for Roma.
The Giallorossi played a friendly in Indonesia on Friday, defeating the Indonesian Under-23 team 3-1 at their base in Trigoria, with Garcia sending out three different line-ups for 30 minutes each.
Cole, who signed from Chelsea on a free transfer on July 7, featured for the first time for his new club, and Garcia revealed his delight at the defender's attitude.
"I liked the attitude of the new players like Cole and [Salih] Ucan," the 50-year-old Frenchman was quoted by the Daily Mail.
"They stepped on to the field with confidence."
The former England international moved to Italy after eight seasons with Chelsea, where he won a Premier League title, four FA Cups, the Champions League and the Europa League.
The 33-year-old has a contract with the club for the next two seasons.
