The attacking midfielder is brimming with ambition ahead of 2014-15 but acknowledges that he needs to improve after a middling start to his career with the RossoneriKeisuke Honda is keen to guide AC Milan back to the Champions League again next season after a disappointing 2013-14 campaign.
The Rossoneri beat Sassuolo 2-1 on Sunday to end the season on a positive note but nonetheless missed out on qualification for European football as they finished in eighth position in Serie A.
"Our objective for next season is to qualify for the Champions League again," Honda told Milan Channel.
"Although going one step further and winning the league wouldn't be bad either..."
The Japan international joined Milan from CSKA Moscow in the January transfer window but has so far been unable to live up to the high expectations and admits that he has yet to find his best form at San Siro.
"I know that people aren't happy with me yet but what you've seen so far of me isn't a clear representation of what I'm about," the midfielder declared.
"I need to change my mentality for the World Cup and I hope the Milan fans will be patient with me until next season."
Honda has scored once in 14 Serie A appearances for Milan so far.
