Roma boss Rudi Garcia singled out Rodrigo Taddei for special praise after watching his side beat Chievo 2-0 on Saturday evening.
Gervinho put the Giallorossi in front on 17 minutes before Mattia Destro sealed the victory the before half-time after finishing from Taddei's through ball.
The Brazilian midfielder was at the heart of all Roma's good work and could enjoy an extended run in the side following the season-ending injury suffered by Kevin Strootman.
"Taddei has the ability to operate as a playmaker," said Garcia after the game. "He is a consumate professional."
The win means Roma trail leaders Juventus by 11 points but they now boast a six point advantage over third-placed Napoli and Garcia congratulated his players for their continued professionalism.
He added: "It might have looked easy but it wasn't. We had a good first half and did well to take our chances. My players want to win every match, they give their all on the field without thinking about the next game."
