The midfielder confesses his dismay at the attacker's absence after yet another injury but feels that the Viola have enough alternatives to cope with his spell on the sidelines
The Italy international faces a spell on the sidelines with knee ligament damage after succumbing to injury in the 1-0 win over Livorno on Sunday and Valero acknowledges that things will be more difficult for the Viola without their star striker.
"It's always difficult to do without a player of Giuseppe's level and we miss him a lot," the 28-year-old told reporters.
"But fortunately we have other champions in the squad and they proved that against Chievo.
"It's positive that we have different options and can take on so many different tactical systems."
Joaquin and Ante Rebic both scored in the first half as Fiorentina qualified for the Coppa Italia quarter-finals, much to the delight of Valero.
"This gives us more confidence going into the next games," he said ahead of league trips to Torino and Catania.
Fiorentina currently sit fourth in Serie A with 36 points from 18 games.
