Rodrigo Palacio, Andrea Ranocchia and Ricky Alvarez were all on target as the Nerazzurri moved back into fourth place in Serie A thanks to a 3-0 win over UdineseWalter Mazzarri hailed Sunday's 3-0 win over Udinese as one of Inter's "best performances of the season" so far.
The Nerazzurri reclaimed fourth spot in Serie A with a resounding win at the Friuli, which came courtesy of goals from Rodrigo Palacio, Andrea Ranocchia and Ricky Alvarez.
Mazzarri was enthused by his side's display against the Zebrette and singled out Argentine duo Alvarez and Esteban Cambiasso for special praise.
"I think this has been one of our best performances of the season, particularly in relation to the quality of the opponent," the former Napoli boss told Sky Sport Italia.
"I can only praise Alvarez because he offers quality and quantity. Cambiasso, meanwhile, is a great player. He wins the ball and distributes it well. He has returned to being the player he was during [Jose] Mourinho's time. He's a truly great player."
Erick Thohir's recent takeover has prompted speculation that Inter could spend big during the January transfer window but Mazzarri would not like to see the club's new Indonesian owner splash the cash just for the sake of it.
"We are already doing well but we'll see if there are things we can improve," he added. "We'll meet in January and, if there's the chance of taking a footballer stronger than the others, we'll see, but we won't just take 'a filler'.
"That's a principle I've carried with me for a long time now."
