The Argentine has grown frustrated by his side's inability to see out games, with Walter Mazzarri's men having blown another advantage in Bergamo
The Argentine put the San Siro side a goal to the good in Bergamo but they were ultimately forced to settle for a share of the spoils on account of German Denis' equaliser.
The result sees Inter take outright possession of fourth place but they are nine points behind leaders Roma, having played one game more.
"Today we go away only half-satisfied," Alvarez told Sky Sport Italia. "We played a great game. They are a difficult squad that play well at home.
"But we need to be more clever. We have gone ahead but not taken home the three points - like against Torino and Cagliari. This is what we're lacking to move forward.
"We have played well in all the games, but we have not held on to the advantage until the end.
"The squads that want to fight for the Scudetto must do this."
Inter next face a tricky trip to Udinese.
