The Switzerland international says the Giuseppe Meazza side are candidates because they do not have the distraction of European football and can focus on Serie A
Juventus had the 'luxury' of only having to compete in Serie A when they won their first domestic title under Antonio Conte in 2011-12 and Lichtsteiner believes it could benefit Inter that they have no European obligations either this season.
"We’re up against a team who will be fighting for the Scudetto as their main objective, just as we were two years ago.
"We know that the Inter side we’re facing will be fired up and determined, but so are we.
"It doesn’t change anything that the Derby d'Italia is played so early in the season. What matters to us is the quality of our performance, no matter who the opponent is.
"We’ll need to put in a strong performance."
Saturday's encounter at the Giuseppe Meazza is scheduled to kick off at 17:00BST.
