Andrea Barzagli believes Angelo Ogbonna has what it takes to become a key player at Juventus and feels the Serie A champions made the right decision to sign the centre-back.
Ogbonna joined Juve from Torino in a deal worth up to €15 million (£12.9m) and Barzagli has little doubt the 25-year-old is destined to become a star.
"Ogbonna will help us move forward. If you want to improve the quality of the team, you have to buy players of the highest level. Angelo can become a great champion," Barzagli told reporters.
"His presence will not only help us during matches, but also on the training pitch. Having a team-mate around who can play in your position only motivates you and pushes you to work even harder and give your all.
"That's why I think Juventus made the right decision to bring in Angelo. He is still young and gives continuity to the team."
Ogbonna can make his official Juventus debut in the Supercoppa Italiana game against Lazio on August 18.
