"We must overcome the preliminary rounds of the Champions League, then we need to start well in the league. We do not look at the other teams, we are concentrating on ourselves. If a big signing does arrive, then all the better. I hope Kevin-Prince Boateng stays.
"I am sure that this could be his year. We are Milan and we are not afraid of anyone. We have to get back to the top and be ready for anything."
Constant, who joined San Siro last summer with experience as a midfielder, was coach Massimiliano Allegri’s first-choice left-back for much of last season but is expected to face stiff competition from Italy starlet Mattia de Sciglio this campaign.
"I am ready to start all the matches, as is Mattia, but it is up to the coach to decide. If he plays then I will be right behind him to give him a hand. He is young but he is an excellent player," he added.
"Last year I had to settle down and I worked on my defensive game a lot seeing as I was playing in a new role. This season I hope to provide more assists.
"Being at Milan has made me a better player tactically and also in defence because they made it clear to me that if I didn’t improve in how I defend then I was going to struggle.
"The coach used me in that position last season and it went well. Now I feel like a full-back, but if the team needs a hand in midfield then I am ready."
