The 30-year-old struggled to make an impact at San Siro following a switch last summer, and his representative feels a new club can help the striker earn an Italy recall

Inter striker Antonio Cassano will be a Parma player by the end of the week, his agent has revealed.

The 30-year-old joined Nerazzurri from city rivals Milan prior to last season but struggled to make an impact as they finished ninth under former boss Andrea Stramaccioni.

However, Cassano, who played just once in Inter's final seven games last season following an injury, sees a switch to Parma as the ideal way to play more regularly and win back a place in the Italy national team.

Agent Beppe Bozzo said his client retains a hope of playing in the 2014 World Cup and regular football can help him achieve this.

"The negotiations will be completed by Wednesday or Thursday. It all seems to be going in the right direction and I doubt there will be problems,” Bozzo told Radio Kiss Kiss.

"It is a positive move for Antonio and for both clubs. Inter will have what they want and Cassano will be able to show his qualities ahead of next year’s World Cup.

"It is also beyond doubt that Parma are signing a player of enormous talent who can give a precious contribution this season."

Cassano is currently out of favour in the Italy side, with the likes of Mario Balotelli, Alberto Gilardino and Stephan El Shaarawy all preferred to him at the recent Confederations Cup.
