Juventus had tried to sign Tevez before, reveals Joorabchian

The departing Manchester City man's agent claims that the Bianconeri had previously been after the forward, adding that he turned down offers from Anzhi and Monaco
Carlos Tevez's representative, Kia Joorabchian, has revealed that Juventus had already tried to sign the Argentina international on a number of occasions in the past before finally landing their man on Wednesday.

The 29-year-old has signed a three-year deal with the Serie A champions after they had reached an agreement with Manchester City over a transfer fee beginning at £10 million.

"This was certainly not the first year that we spoke with Juventus," Joorabchian told Il Corriere dello Sport.

"They had already attempted to sign Carlos a few times before. That means that they really wanted him. This time they were immediately very concrete."

The attacker's representative then revealed that AC Milan, Monaco and Anzhi Makhachkala were keen on signing Tevez as well but that he only wanted Juve.

"Anzhi and Monaco really wanted him as well but he wanted to join a club with a big history and an ambitious project, even if he could have earned more elsewhere," Joorabchian added.

"Are the people at Milan a bit upset with the transfer? I feel sorry if that's the case but Carlitos really wanted to join Juventus."
