The experienced Argentine believes that the former Napoli manager can guide the Giuseppe Meazza side back to the top after stumbling to a ninth-place finish in 2012-13

Javier Zanetti is confident that Walter Mazzarri has what it takes to help Inter back to the top after a disappointing 2012-13 campaign.

The Giuseppe Meazza side had to settle for ninth spot in the Serie A table this term and consequently parted company with coach Andrea Stramaccioni, before hiring the former Napoli boss.

"He's got a lot of experience and, after the tough time we've been through, yes, he could be the right man to get us back on track," Zanetti said at a press conference.

"I don't know him personally but he's got great experience and I know about the work he's done at his other clubs. We hope to have a great season with him. He joins a big club like Inter and he'll have the same desire as us to show who we are.

"We need strength and belief to get back on track, Inter deserve to be back at the top of the table. Have I met him yet? No, I've spoken to him but not met him in person."

Mazzarri guided Napoli to second spot in the Serie A table this season.
