The Lazio boss says he believes his side are still capable of a top-three finish after their 1-1 draw with Roma and praised his players for their display
Hernanes put Lazio ahead in the 16th minute, but proceeded to miss a penalty kick early in the second half. Francesco Totti then converted from the spot less than 10 minutes later as each team was forced to settle for a point.
“In the second half we had to calm the rhythm of the game down,” he told Sky Sport Italia.
“But in the first half we had a lot of the ball, and that allowed us to dominate.
“We have shown a willingness to win here, but unfortunately we could only get a draw.”
The result means Lazio failed to gain ground on Fiorentina and Milan who drew their match this weekend, and now sit seven points behind third-placed Milan.
With seven games to play, Lazio have one of the tougher schedules remaining, with games away to Udinese, Parma, Inter and Cagliari, while playing host to Juventus, Bologna and Sampdoria.
“I see the glass as half-full though," he said. "I believe that the Champions League is still possible.”
