Juventus are feeling Conte's absence, says Marotta

The Bianconeri director has insisted that the reigning Serie A champions will come back to full form once their coach's ban is over and he is restored to them
Giuseppe Marotta has voiced his opinion that the absence of head coach Antonio Conte is affecting Juventus' performances on the pitch.

The 43-year-old was handed a 10-month suspension for his role in the Scommessopoli scandal, which was later reduced to four months, and the club director has insisted the Bianconeri will find things easier when his ban is over.

"Conte is one of the best coaches in the world. We really feel his absence and our season is more difficult as a result," Marotta said to La Politica nel Pallone.

"We have only lost once without him, but only because his staff are top draw and the players are professionals.

"Conte is a young coach, he went 48 matches without defeat, won the league, Super Cup and reached the final of the Coppa Italia.

"He is like a caged lion at the moment, he cannot demonstrate his footballing nous over 90 minutes. He is suffering. He was angry after Saturday’s match, but ultimately determined."

Conte will be able to return to action for Juve’s clash with Palermo on December 9.
