The Italy playmaker is excited at the prospect of his former club-mate moving to the San Siro and is buoyed by his attacking instincts in the final third.Riccardo Montolivo has reacted to the news of current AC Milan team-mate Antonio Cassano and Inter's Giampaolo Pazzini switching clubs with delight.
The summer recruit played alongside the former Sampdoria striker during his time at Fiorentina, and belives that the 28-year-old will be an invaluable addition to the Rossoneri squad.
"As a person he is splendid and we have been friends for many years," Montolivo told the official club channel.
"Together we won the Coppa Italia Primavera with the Atalanta youth team, playing together for that club, at Fiorentina, in the Under-21 Italy side and for la Nazionale.
"It's wonderful to meet up here, at the club with the most trophies in the world, especially as I feel our squad is missing a player exactly like him."
The Rossoneri start their campaign this weekend at home to Sampdoria.
